My Home Management Binder

I have been wanting to share my HMB before I even had a blog! I loved looking at others binders, and longed for the day I could share mine! Now I have a digital camera and a blog! A perfect pair for what I need to share my HMB!

A history of my binder:

I originally started a binder for housecleaning exclusively, when I found flylady. I spent hours putting together a binder that was beautiful. The thing is........ I never used it! It just didn't work. Flylady is a great program, but not for me. Well months later I came across Candy's blog. There it was a HMB! Just the thoughts I had in my head that were not coming together on there own! I made this binder my own. I put it together, and moved things a bit, but overall this binder is the same exact one I have started with. I have not had it for long. Only 1 yr. I adore my binder. As most of my readers know, we are fixing to move. After the move I will be renovating my binder. But for memories, I wanted to post it on my blog 1st for all you to see, and for me to remember :-)

My Binder in all it's glory! I did not straiten it or modify it in anyway to take pictures.

The Cover:

As you can see the cover is no longer strait :-) Also the background is supposed to be a dark blue, but it has been badly faded by the sun.

Another view with the spine included:

Here is the tabs in my binder. It gives you a feel for how thick my binder is:

Now lets open up my binder. In the front pocket I keep bills, papers I want to add to my binder, or just loose papers that are around that I have no where else to put. You can also see the pouch where I keep extra labels, pens, stamps, mics other items.
My binder currently has 10 sections. I plan on downsizing when I renovate my binder. I will still use a 3 inch binder, but I really don't use all the sections enough. I want to see a few go bye bye :-)

The sections are:

  • Calendar
  • Schedules
  • Cleaning
  • Menu's
  • Bible
  • Home Keeping
  • Child training
  • Phone Book
  • Homeschool
  • Recipes

In that order :-) I am hoping to get it down to 7 sections. I will now post pictures of some of these sections. To post them all would take forever!

Calendar Section - In this section I have a years worth of Calendars printed out. 2 months per page. And divided with temporary tabs that can be removed easily.

Schedules Section - In this section I have a copy of my Master Schedule, Summer Schedule, and Daily Routines. Here is a picture of the Master Schedule & Summer Schedule

Cleaning Section - Here I have a copy the Emergency Quick Clean, Table Chore assignments, Master Cleaning Schedule, and recipes for my homemade cleaners.

Menu Section - Here I have any menu's I have made up in the past. That way if I ever don't have time to make a menu, I can grab an old one out of the stash.

Bible Section - In this section I keep a record of how much of the bible I have read through. I have all the pages in clear protectors so I can re-use all of them. I also have Articles that have to do with things I am researching, and anti-cult articles.

Home Keeping Section - this section of my binder is where I include articles that inspire me to keeping my home clean.

Child Training - This section is where I have a list of bible versus on training childing, and also some articles online that I have really like.

Phone Book - I need to move this section up in my binder. It is tucked pretty far back, and it's hard to access. It's more used then other sections. I have alphabetical tabs for this section to keep everything easy to find.
Next is my Homeschool Section where I keep my plans, curriculum sources, and a Homeschool Affidavit, that our state requires we fill out each year.

The last section in my binder is 'Recipes' I never really use this section. It has just never stuck. I have a recipe box on my counter where I stash all recipes.

After all the sections I have extra clear page protectors, and some lined paper for notes or doodles etc.

I did not take a picture of the back of my binder. It has nothing in it. I have seen other post there Master Schedules or Routines there, and I think I will do that as well. I hope you enjoyed the tour of my HMB! I know I have learned a lot from reading some of yours ;-)

Blessings :-)
